THE CUBE is a versatile candle holder with specially designed spaces on each side to accommodate various types of candles.
Since my student days, I’ve been captivated by the idea of multifunctionality and the potential of a single (specifically designed) object to transform or adapt to various life situations, much like a Swiss knife. Among the weird objects I made in my early career were a teapot with two compartments for different types of tea, a side table with small drawers in its legs, and a ‘mood indicator’ – shelf sculpture depicting different emotions on each side to non-verbally convey one’s mood to a partner. Although those projects are long gone and their images were lost in a house fire, the concept of multifunctionality continues to linger in my mind, and I’m sure that THE CUBE is not the last object in line of my explorations into this idea.
