PLEASE DO TOUCH

2007

Seeing is believing, but feeling is the truth.

Mordern world is full of visual information, however, for ceramics it is of utmost importance to be touched, to be handled and held. Installation PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH is a small protest against museum plaques that forbid touching objects. I understand why they do so but sometimes it is really difficult to resist the temptation. During my installation the audience was welcomed to touch – to dig into pots full of tiny ceramic balls, feel sharp points of porcelain needles or crash some china flakes in a palm.
