KEEPING THE SHAPE

2010

In the design of tea service KEEPING THE SHAPE a handle plays the key role (once again). Usually, a handle sticks out of outline of an object but here I tried to emphasize the integrity of the profiles – the handles do not break the body curves but are hidden inside the shapes. The tea set includes a teapot, two cups and saucers, a creamer and a sugar bowl with a lid. To optimize packing and storage the foot of the saucer is designed to fit the cup allowing stacking of several pairs cup-saucer on top of each other.

The project was shortlisted for 25 best Russian contemporary design objects and was exhibited at ARCH Moscow 2017.
