THE CUBE is a versatile candle holder with specially designed spaces on each side to accommodate various types of candles.

Since my student days, I’ve been captivated by the idea of multifunctionality and the potential of a single (specifically designed) object to transform or adapt to various life situations, much like a Swiss knife. Among the weird objects I made in my early career were a teapot with two compartments for different types of tea, a side table with small drawers in its legs, and a ‘mood indicator’ – shelf sculpture depicting different emotions on each side to non-verbally convey one’s mood to a partner. Although those projects are long gone and their images were lost in a house fire, the concept of multifunctionality continues to linger in my mind, and I’m sure that THE CUBE is not the last object in line of my explorations into this idea.

BUTTONS’ unusual design emerged through exploration of alternative ways of holding a cup with a hot drink. To get away from a classical ear-shape handle I have tried out several different concepts (see NO MORE HANDLES), and this one proved to be the most successful. Here the knobs serve not only as a decoration (3D polka dots) but also as holding points – the position of the knobs allows to rest one’s fingers on them and embrace the cup without touching its hot surface.

Opened just a couple of months before the pandemic hit, AEROPLAN now has two cafes in Central Moscow and one in Barcelona (Aeroplano). All of them are spacious and bright, styled with an impecable taste and attention to every detail. A vast variety of specialty coffee complimented by yummy desserts (tiramisu there is to die for) and overall ambience attract not only local coffee lovers but also bloggers, photographers and artists of all sorts.
The cups I made for the place, although quite simple, became an integral part of the brand. Beloved by customers, especially for the small airplane detail on the bottom, AEROPLANO coffee cups have become a popular subject for sharing and garnering attention.

One summer day, while taking a break from fulfilling a large EDGES AND LINES order, I sat on the terrace, gazing at my flowering garden. I was a bit tired from drawing hundreds of parallel lines and felt an unexpected urge to sketch some flowers. This is how the SWEDISH SUMMER cups and bowls came to life.

Their naive and childish look on one hand, and clear structure on the other, reminded me of Stig Lindberg’s drawings. In honor of his influence, the word ‘Swedish’ is added into the series’ name. Items in this collection vary in shape, size, and decoration, yet they are unified by the colors and decorative style. This, in my opinion, enhances the collection’s spontaneity, lightness, and summery charm.

MINIMAL is a collection of functional everyday tableware created in a distinctive scandinavian aesthetics. Casted in a range of pastel colors these wares feature clean minimalistic look, clay layering of two different colors and silky matte exterior. Due to simple silouettes and subtle color palette, all elements from the collection match each other perfectly. Being made of high quality porcelain and fired high, wares are durable and easy to clean.

The collections started with a mini tea bowl in 2017, and has been growing since with new elements added from time to time.

Midi- and espresso- cups were picked by some of the coffee professionals as their competition cups for various coffee championates. Also, cups from this collection were chosen for serving specialty coffee and cocoa in several cafes in Moscow (for example, Aeroplan, Erna and Sverstnik), Barcelona (Aeroplano) and Hong Kong (Gwee Coffee & More).

Although the idea of budvases DUO came to me by accident (a mini bowl of MINIMAL series was drying upside down on top of another one, and I thought they looked like a nice vase), I have thought through their functionality and usability quite thoroughly. They look quite simple on the outside but there is a lot happenning inside: extra weight is added to the bottom part for stability, and also a small cylinder is attached to the base for a stem to go in, so that even a long single flower would stand straight and neat. The vases are glazed inside but left unglazed ouside, apart from the very top part where a glazed surface makes it easier to clean the possible pollen falling down.
