MATERIALS and PROCESSES: Clayful wares are handcrafted in high-quality porcelain clay bodies and glazed with food-safe lead-free glazes. Clayful is registered as a Food Contact Materials operator and complies with all applicable European safety regulations concerning manufacture of products that intend to come in contact with food.
When fired properly, porcelain is the strongest and most durable type of clay. To make it colorful, a variety of ceramic pigments are mixed into clay. Adding color in this way binds the particles in the strongest way possible, which means that colors will never fade. All products are fired to 1290C, as a result of such intense heat significant part of clay components transforms to glass, ensuring a high level of sintering and low (close to zero) level of porosity, and makes wares durable and impervious to bacteria.
